Gandhi in Beliaghata

Ramachandra Guha's articles in the Sunday Magazine edition of The Hindu are always refreshing. In particular I enjoy his articles which recount some interesting factoid from Gandhi's life. This week he recounts Gandhi's stay at Haidari Mansion in Calcutta from August 13th to September 7th ,1947. Gandhi was there in Calcutta striving for peace among the muslims and hindus in the riot torn city, even on the momentous day of Independence.
